Regional and Domestic Airlines

The easiest way to reach any place in this world is by air as it is less time consuming. The aviation industry has grown rapidly. Most of the countries have their national airline. While some flights are operated by international airlines some others are run by regional and domestic airlines. The domestic flights are operated within the boundaries of a particular country. Regional airlines run flights between destinations in a particular region such as Middle East or Central America. These airlines also connect different destinations in a particular part of a country such as southern India or Eastern USA and so on.

Some of the major regional and domestic airlines include:

Air Sahara

Founded in 1991, Air Sahara is known as Jet Lite at present. This airline is controlled by Jet Airways. The main hub of this New Delhi, India based airline is Indira Gandhi International Airport. The other hubs of this airline include Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad and Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai. It has a fleet size of 25 aircrafts. Some the destinations of this airline include Indore, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Amritsar, Coimbatore, Pune, Kochi, Jammu, Goa, Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai and so on.

Indian Airlines

Indian Airlines is a state owned private airline that was founded in 1953. The major hubs of this airline include Indira Gandhi International (New Delhi), Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (Kolkata), Chhatrapati Shivaji International (Mumbai) and Chennai International (Chennai). This airline has a fleet size of 74 aircrafts. Some of the destinations of this airline include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Gujrat, Goa, Jammu and Kasmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Dhaka and so on. At present it has merged with Air India.

Lufthansa Regional

Covering nearly 80 destinations and carrying 10.5 million passengers a year, Lufthansa Regional is the regional airline alliance of Lufthansa. It is operated by five partners including Contact Air, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Augsburg Airways and Lufthansa City Line. It has a fleet size of 152 aircrafts. The major hubs of this airline are Frankfurt International Airport, Munich - Franz Josef Straut International Airport, Dortmund Airport, Verona, Italy and Stuttgart Airport.

Kingfisher Airlines

Kingfisher Airlines is a major Indian Airline. It was founded in 2004. It has a fleet size of 43 aircrafts. The hubs of this airline are Bangalore International Airport, Rajiv Gandhi Gandhi International Airport, Indira Gandhi International Airport and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Some of the destinations of Kingfisher include Kochi, Thrivandrum, Assam, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Vancouver, San Francisco, New York City and so on. The parent company of this airline is UB Group.

West Jet Airlines

West Jet Airline is a low cost airline that was founded in 1996. This Canadian airline is based in Calgary, Alberta. It is also the second largest passenger carrier airline of Canada. It has a fleet size of 75 aircrafts. This airline offers flights to destinations like Ontario, New York, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, California, New Jersey, Nevada, Hawaii, Florida, California, Arizona, Sinaloa, Baja California Sur, Saskatchewan, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, Alberta, Jamaica, Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic and so on.
